Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), including hardware, software, and security systems.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues for federal and local agencies.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- Conduct regular system audits and software updates to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to agency staff regarding hardware and software usage.
- Collaborate with vendors to procure hardware and manage service contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or IT support within a government or corporate environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (if required).
