We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pension Administrator to join our growing team in Austin. In this pivotal role, you will manage critical retirement plan administration tasks, ensuring the financial security of thousands of retired public servants. As a key member of the State Government workforce, you will be responsible for processing pension claims, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing exceptional service to retirees. Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Processing: Accurately process and review retirement applications, withdrawals, and benefit adjustments on a weekly basis.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all pension records adhere to Texas state laws and internal compliance standards.
- Retiree Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for retirees with inquiries regarding their pension statements and benefits via phone and email.
- Data Management: Maintain and update the central database with precise financial records and personal employee data.
- Weekend Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the pension office during weekend shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and problem resolution.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly reports on processed claims and discrepancies for the management team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pension administration, benefits administration, or state government operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERPs or HRIS systems.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume data entry and financial transactions.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required by the department.
