Responsibilities
- Process Retirement Applications: Accurately review and process pension applications and retirement benefit requests from public employees.
- Calculate Pension Estimates: Perform complex calculations to determine pension benefits and ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Customer Service: Assist retirees and active employees with inquiries regarding their pension plans, health benefits, and eligibility.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain precise digital and physical records of all retirement files and benefit transactions.
- Compliance Support: Ensure all processing aligns with federal and state pension laws and departmental policies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, or Public Administration is a plus.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We are looking for candidates eager to learn and grow within the public sector.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data handling.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public.
