Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway, bridge, and traffic infrastructure projects in compliance with TxDOT standards
- Analyze traffic data and recommend solutions for congestion mitigation and safety improvements
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and environmental impact reports
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and local municipalities on project execution
- Ensure compliance with federal (FHWA), state, and local transportation regulations
- Conduct field inspections and resolve technical issues during construction phases
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and traffic simulation software for design analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering (ABET accredited)
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 3 years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT or similar agency
- Proficiency in engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic modeling tools
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD, TxDOT design manuals, and federal transportation regulations
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with public infrastructure funding programs (e.g., STIP) preferred
