Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans and corridor studies using GIS and traffic modeling software
- Analyze multimodal infrastructure data to optimize public transit systems and bike/pedestrian networks
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure compliance with FAST Act and FTA regulations
- Lead public engagement initiatives and stakeholder workshops for major infrastructure projects
- Prepare NEPA documentation and environmental impact assessments for federally funded projects
- Manage project budgets and timelines using state procurement protocols
- Research and implement innovative smart city technologies for traffic management systems
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or Transportation Policy (required)
- 5+ years of experience in transportation planning or public infrastructure development
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, TransCAD, or comparable transportation modeling software
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of federal transportation funding mechanisms (e.g., TIGER, CMAQ)
- Experience leading NEPA compliance processes and environmental documentation
- Proven ability to facilitate complex stakeholder negotiations and public hearings
- Federal security clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days
