Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for District infrastructure projects
- Analyze traffic patterns and mobility data using GIS and statistical modeling tools
- Coordinate with federal agencies (USDOT, FHWA) and local stakeholders on policy alignment
- Design equitable transit solutions serving diverse DC communities
- Prepare grant applications and funding proposals for federal/state programs
- Lead public engagement sessions and community outreach initiatives
- Ensure compliance with NEPA, ADA, and DC transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with transportation planning projects
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and traffic modeling tools
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant applications (TIGER, FASTLANE)
- Strong analytical skills with data visualization capabilities
- Knowledge of DC transportation policies and Complete Streets principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
