Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans for urban and rural areas using GIS modeling and traffic analysis software
- Lead public outreach initiatives to gather stakeholder input on major infrastructure projects
- Analyze transportation data to identify congestion hotspots and propose mitigation strategies
- Prepare funding applications for federal/state transportation grants and programs
- Coordinate with local jurisdictions to ensure alignment of regional transportation goals
- Manage environmental reviews and compliance with federal/state regulations
- Mentor junior planners and oversee technical documentation deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience with government/municipal focus
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software (TransCAD, Cube, or Vistro)
- Strong knowledge of federal transportation regulations (MAP-21, FAST Act)
- Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience managing transportation project budgets over $1M
- Certified Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) credential preferred
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools
