Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans for Austin metropolitan area using GIS modeling and traffic analysis software
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for infrastructure project alignment
- Analyze transportation data to identify congestion points and propose evidence-based solutions
- Prepare technical reports and environmental impact statements for major highway expansions
- Manage multimodal transportation projects including bike lanes, public transit corridors, and pedestrian pathways
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community groups and industry partners
- Ensure compliance with federal transportation regulations and state sustainability goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of transportation planning experience with government agencies
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, TransCAD, or transportation modeling software
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of federal transportation regulations (FTA, FHWA)
- Experience with environmental impact assessment processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines
