Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Monitor airport operations and identify suspicious behavior or security threats
- Operate advanced imaging technology and maintain security equipment
- Enforce TSA security regulations and provide passenger guidance
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Complete detailed incident reports and security documentation
- Maintain constant vigilance in high-traffic environments
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license with clean record
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security systems
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
