Responsibilities
- Operate TSA-provided screening equipment including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and trace detection systems
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening procedures to detect prohibited items
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining security protocols
- Document security incidents and screening activities in accordance with TSA guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security concerns
- Maintain equipment functionality and report maintenance needs promptly
- Participate in continuous security training and procedural updates
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and security clearance
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and observational abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
