Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology.
- Conduct thorough pat-downs and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items and potential threats.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness to identify security risks and respond appropriately to emerging situations.
- Communicate effectively with the public, explaining screening procedures clearly and maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure.
- Document all screening activities and report any anomalies, discrepancies, or security breaches immediately.
- Follow all TSA directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and security protocols strictly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient checkpoint operations and minimal passenger wait times.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Must successfully complete a federal background investigation, including a fingerprint check, and pass a drug screen.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Good near and distant vision and color discrimination.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA) clearance.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
