Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identification
- Operate advanced security technology while maintaining efficient checkpoint flow
- Respond to security alerts and suspicious activity with proper escalation procedures
- Provide courteous customer service to diverse travelers during security screening
- Maintain accurate screening logs and incident reports
- Participate in mandatory security training and drills
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if applicable to position)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security systems
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
