Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray technology and physical inspection methods
- Operate advanced security equipment including millimeter wave scanners and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections as mandated by TSA protocols
- Identify and report suspicious items, anomalies, or potential security threats
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and incident reports
- Deliver exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass rigorous background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Must obtain and maintain TSA certification within 6 months
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating shifts
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Successfully complete TSA's security screening training program
