Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections to detect prohibited items
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Respond to security alerts and emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Maintain detailed security logs and incident reports
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing TSA regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Participate in continuous training on new security protocols and equipment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English language (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Successfully complete TSA's Security Training Academy program
- Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable transportation
- No felony convictions or recent employment gaps over 6 months
