Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on items for prohibited materials using advanced X-ray and metal detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with appropriate escalation procedures
- Operate and maintain security technology systems including CT scanners and explosive detection devices
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security regulations with professionalism
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Must complete TSA Security Training Academy within 90 days of hire
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
