Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communication protocols
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate emergency notification systems (e.g., Nixle, CodeRED)
- Adhere to HIPAA and confidential information protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Clear diction and multilingual skills (Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Pass medical/psychological evaluations
