Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to potential security threats with appropriate protocols
- Assist passengers with security procedures while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
- Operate and maintain security equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly
- Document security incidents and submit detailed reports according to TSA guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
