Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical searches of persons and property when necessary
- Verify identification documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Monitor security checkpoints and report suspicious activities or items
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining strict security protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate records of security screenings and incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security systems
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
