Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo to detect prohibited items in strict accordance with federal security directives.
- Operate state-of-the-art X-ray screening equipment and body scanners to identify threats while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Interact with travelers in a professional, calm, and reassuring manner, providing clear instructions and managing queues efficiently.
- Perform pat-down searches and physical inspections when automated screening is inconclusive, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
- Adhere strictly to all TSA policies, regulations, and privacy standards during every shift.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, representing the TSA professionally at all times.
- Document and report any suspicious activities or security breaches immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is mandatory.
- Must be at least 20 years of age (21 preferred) and willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprinting, and pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Ability to pass the TSA Personal Characteristics and Background Investigation (PCBI).
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
