Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Monitor and operate X-ray, CT, and millimeter wave screening equipment to detect prohibited items in carry-on baggage, checked baggage, and on passengers.
- Pat-downs & Physical Checks: Conduct thorough physical screenings, including pat-downs and physical searches, to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to travelers, including assisting passengers with disabilities or special needs, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce TSA security directives, regulations, and procedures strictly and impartially to maintain a secure checkpoint environment.
- Threat Identification: Identify potential threats, weapons, or contraband that may pose a risk to transportation security.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team to ensure checkpoint operations run smoothly and efficiently during peak travel times.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Background Check: Must pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check and drug screen.
- Physical Requirements: Must pass a medical assessment. Good vision (with or without correction) and color discrimination are required.
- Availability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with the public.
