Responsibilities
- Operate Screening Equipment: Utilize advanced imaging technology (CT, X-Ray) and walk-through metal detectors to detect prohibited items in carry-on luggage and on passengers.
- Passenger Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service to travelers by answering questions, assisting individuals with special needs, and maintaining a professional demeanor during high-volume periods.
- Security Protocols: Adhere strictly to TSA security directives and regulations to ensure the safety of the airport environment.
- Patrol and Observation: Conduct regular patrols of the screening area to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure compliance with security measures.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including screening logs and incident reports, in a timely manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow officers and supervisors to maintain efficient screening operations and resolve issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- Legal Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident eligible for unrestricted employment. Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform moderate physical exertion. Must pass a medical examination.
- Character: No felony convictions, no domestic violence convictions, and no drug-related offenses.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse population.
- Availability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
