Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray screening equipment to inspect carry-on luggage and personal items for prohibited items and explosives.
- Passenger Inspection: Utilize metal detectors and advanced imaging technology to screen passengers for weapons and dangerous objects.
- Document Verification: Verify identity documents (Passports, IDs) and ensure travelers meet entry requirements.
- Customer Service: Assist passengers with directions, answer inquiries professionally, and de-escalate situations calmly and courteously.
- Security Enforcement: Enforce security regulations strictly to maintain a secure airport environment and prevent security breaches.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or issues to the appropriate technical support teams.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and fellow screeners to maintain efficient checkpoint operations during peak travel times.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Background Check: Must pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check, fingerprinting, and a drug screening.
- Legal Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Health & Fitness: Ability to pass a medical examination and physical fitness requirements; must be able to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.
- No Disqualifiers: No disqualifying criminal convictions, including certain drug-related offenses.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
