Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray equipment and walk-through metal detectors.
- Conduct pat-downs and physical searches when necessary, strictly adhering to TSA security protocols and privacy regulations.
- Identify potential threats, prohibited items, and dangerous materials with high accuracy.
- Interact professionally and courteously with travelers from diverse backgrounds, resolving conflicts with diplomacy.
- Monitor security checkpoints to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and agency policies.
- Document screening results accurately and report any irregularities, security breaches, or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment cleaning and sanitization protocols.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required (must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance).
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Must be able to pass a physical agility test demonstrating the physical fitness required for the role.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights, including unscheduled overtime.
- Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to remain alert during long shifts.
