Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment
- Perform thorough passenger and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection when necessary
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to potential threats or emergencies
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security protocols
- Complete detailed documentation of security incidents and observations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn screening technologies
- Valid U.S. driver's license if operating agency vehicles
