Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and pat-down techniques
- Identify and report suspicious items, prohibited materials, and potential security threats
- Operate advanced screening technology while maintaining strict adherence to TSA Standard Operating Procedures
- Provide clear communication and assistance to travelers during security screening processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training on new security technologies and protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English communication (verbal and written)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
- Must obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
