Responsibilities
- Operate Screening Equipment: Monitor X-ray machines and explosive trace detection equipment to identify prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Passenger Screening: Conduct thorough pat-downs and physical inspections to ensure passenger safety and compliance with security regulations.
- ID Verification: Verify the identity and travel documents of all passengers to prevent unauthorized access.
- Public Interaction: Communicate effectively with passengers to explain screening procedures and provide assistance during busy periods.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to all TSA directives, protocols, and standard operating procedures at all times.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations and execute security protocols to mitigate threats.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check and fingerprinting.
- Drug Test: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
