Responsibilities
- Conduct screening operations for passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo to detect potential security threats.
- Operate X-ray machines, CT scanners, and advanced imaging technology to identify prohibited items.
- Apply security screening protocols and standards strictly to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers, assisting with inquiries and resolving concerns professionally.
- Write detailed incident reports regarding security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of federal officers to maintain a safe and secure environment at the airport.
- Perform physical duties including standing, walking, and lifting moderate weights as required by the job.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain focus during long shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with the public.
