In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the traveling public. You will work in a fast-paced environment at Pittsburgh International Airport, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Screening: Perform comprehensive screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo to detect prohibited items and potential threats.
- Operate Advanced Technology: Utilize X-ray machines, metal detectors, and body scanners to analyze images and identify objects requiring further inspection.
- Perform Pat-Downs: Conduct thorough pat-down searches on passengers when screening equipment indicates a threat or upon request.
- Enforce Regulations: Adhere strictly to TSA protocols, policies, and federal aviation laws to maintain the highest security standards.
- Provide Customer Service: Interact professionally with the traveling public, providing clear instructions and assistance to ensure a smooth travel experience.
- Monitor Security Zones: Maintain vigilance in screening lanes and checkpoint areas to identify suspicious behavior or security breaches.
Qualifications
- Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a criminal history check and drug screening.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive physical movements (bending, reaching).
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
