Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct thorough physical searches of individuals and carry-on items
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with TSA regulations
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify suspicious items or behaviors
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to address security incidents
- Maintain accurate logs of screening activities and security incidents
- Participate in continuous training on security protocols and emerging threats
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with screening technologies
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
