Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to detect prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Conduct physical screenings of passengers, including pat-downs and wanding procedures, ensuring full compliance with federal regulations.
- Verify travel documents, identification, and boarding passes to ensure passengers are authorized to travel.
- Assist passengers with special needs and provide exceptional customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Enforce security protocols and policies to prevent unauthorized access to sterile areas of the airport.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient checkpoint operations and minimize passenger wait times.
- Report any suspicious activities, items, or persons immediately to the Supervising Officer.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, drug screen, and medical fitness for duty evaluation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to remain focused for extended periods.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
