Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual pat-down techniques
- Identify and respond to potential threats, prohibited items, and suspicious behavior according to TSA protocols
- Operate advanced screening equipment and maintain accurate documentation of screening activities
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers while enforcing security regulations with professionalism
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents and emergency situations
- Continuously update knowledge of TSA policies, threat intelligence, and security procedures
- Maintain a secure and efficient screening checkpoint environment at all times
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid government-issued photo ID
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse travelers
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
