Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Identify and resolve security threats through systematic inspection of carry-on and checked items
- Maintain strict compliance with TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service to diverse travelers while enforcing security protocols
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately in TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training to maintain proficiency in security techniques
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and security clearance
- Successfully complete TSA's Security Screening Skills Test (SSST)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
