Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray and millimeter wave scanners to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections per TSA protocols
- Verify passenger identification and boarding documents against flight manifests
- Identify and report prohibited items or suspicious activities to supervisors
- Maintain accurate screening logs and incident documentation
- Provide courteous assistance to passengers with special screening needs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport security teams during emergencies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods in varied environmental conditions
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
- Basic computer literacy for equipment operation
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
