Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and physical pat-down techniques
- Operate complex screening equipment while maintaining strict adherence to TSA Standard Operating Procedures
- Identify and respond to potential security threats with appropriate escalation protocols
- Provide clear instructions and assistance to travelers during the screening process
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training on new security technologies and procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency with ability to obtain security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify prohibited items
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn screening technologies
