Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive zoning and land-use policies aligned with the CityMaster Plan
- Analyze development proposals for compliance with FEMA flood elevation requirements
- Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed planning reports for historic districts
- Coordinate with community stakeholders through public hearings and workshops
- Manage GIS mapping systems for infrastructure and population density analysis
- Prepare grant applications for federal HUD and NOAA resilience programs
- Collaborate with engineering departments on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal planning experience
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Valid Louisiana Professional Planner certification (AICP preferred)
- Deep understanding of Louisiana's Coastal Zone Management Act
- Experience with NEPA documentation and environmental reviews
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines
