Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, documents, and archives ensuring compliance with state regulations
- Oversee municipal elections including voter registration, ballot preparation, and certification
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and official documentation for City Council meetings
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city records and legislative history
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely responses in accordance with the Public Records Act
- Manage the city's legislative tracking system and ordinance publication process
- Serve as the custodian of the city seal and ensure its proper use
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in local government or public sector administration
- Knowledge of California Election Code, Public Records Act, and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and document automation
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects and deadlines
- Experience managing election administration and voter registration processes
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (CMC) or equivalent preferred
