Responsibilities
- Enforce city ordinances and state laws while maintaining public safety protocols
- Respond to emergency calls and critical incidents with rapid deployment
- Conduct community outreach programs to foster positive police-community relations
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies for coordinated safety initiatives
- Utilize advanced surveillance systems and crime prevention technologies
- Mentor junior officers and participate in continuous training programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred in criminal justice or public administration
- Minimum 2 years of law enforcement or public safety experience
- Valid Maryland Peace Officer Certification required
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and psychological evaluation
- Strong written/verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency response software
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet physical fitness standards
- Spanish language proficiency highly desirable
