Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Process and verify a high volume of public records, permits, and applications efficiently and accurately.
- Public Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for citizens and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and resolving inquiries professionally.
- Data Management: Maintain and update internal databases and filing systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular audits to ensure departmental operations adhere to safety codes and government procurement policies.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, memos, and presentations for department heads and city council members.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination of community outreach programs and public safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a government, public sector, or administrative office environment.
- Legal Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn specialized government software quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidential information.
