Responsibilities
- Administer Public Assistance Programs: Assist in the intake and processing of applications for state benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Data Management: Maintain and update state databases with high precision, ensuring all documentation is organized and easily accessible.
- Customer Service: Provide professional support to the public via phone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding state programs and services.
- Record Keeping: Prepare and file necessary paperwork, including reports, correspondence, and case files, in accordance with established confidentiality protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with local, state, and federal agencies to coordinate services and resolve complex issues for clients.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state safety, security, and ethical standards while performing daily duties.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or experience in government administration preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clerical, administrative, or customer service role within the public sector is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with state-specific case management software is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review data for errors and maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a part-time schedule that may include evenings or weekends as needed.
