Responsibilities
- Lead crisis response coordination for public health emergencies (e.g., disease outbreaks, environmental hazards)
- Develop and execute community health education programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Collaborate with state/federal agencies including NMDOH and CDC on compliance initiatives
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $2M+ annually for health equity programs
- Conduct community needs assessments and program evaluations
- Train frontline healthcare workers on updated protocols and reporting procedures
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (required)
- 3+ years of government/public health experience (non-negotiable)
- Active New Mexico Public Health Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Advanced proficiency in SPSS/R for statistical analysis of health data
- Emergency Management Incident Command System (ICS-300) certification
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and federal compliance (e.g., HRSA, CDC)
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish (preferred)
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
