Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls (911 and administrative lines) with accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, and medical resources to the scene based on operator instructions and GPS data.
- Monitor and operate radio frequency systems to maintain constant situational awareness.
- Collect and record detailed incident information, including location, nature of the call, and victim status.
- Provide emergency medical dispatch (EMD) instructions to callers when certified.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and dispatch events.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel and participate in continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch is a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Arizona Public Safety Dispatcher certification within the probationary period.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly under stressful conditions.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including data entry and navigation of multiple screens simultaneously.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the 24/7 operations.
