In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for community initiatives, ensuring seamless communication between the Department of Public Works and local stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily operations of public service programs to ensure timely delivery of services to Detroit residents.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Department of Public Works and community organizations, vendors, and city officials.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and statistical data regarding program performance and community feedback.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and compliance documentation for state and federal funding.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess infrastructure needs and ensure adherence to municipal codes.
- Develop and distribute informational materials to the public regarding sanitation, recycling, and infrastructure projects.
- Respond to public inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex issues as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a government, public sector, or non-profit administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal government procedures and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with database management systems.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
