Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce environmental compliance programs for industrial facilities across Los Angeles County
- Conduct site inspections, investigations, and environmental impact assessments
- Prepare detailed technical reports and regulatory recommendations for agency leadership
- Coordinate with local government agencies and community stakeholders on environmental initiatives
- Manage complex data analysis using GIS and environmental monitoring systems
- Train junior staff on regulatory protocols and emergency response procedures
- Represent the agency at public hearings and community outreach events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of regulatory compliance experience in environmental protection
- Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, QEP, or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency with environmental data analysis software and GIS platforms
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel to field sites
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA and CEQA compliance frameworks
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for technical and public audiences
