Job Description
We are urgently seeking a highly skilled Senior Government Policy Analyst to join our dynamic team in London. This is a critical role within the Department for Work and Pensions, focusing on the development and implementation of key social welfare policies. Due to an unexpected increase in workload and strategic initiatives, we require an experienced professional to drive policy improvements and ensure compliance with government regulations immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on current government legislation and policy trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Draft high-quality policy papers, briefing notes, and ministerial submissions with a focus on clarity and impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal advisors and operational staff, to ensure seamless policy implementation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing government programs, providing data-driven recommendations for optimization.
- Represent the department at internal stakeholder meetings and external working groups as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public sector regulations and ensure all outputs adhere to strict government standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a policy analysis or government relations role within the public sector.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Law, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
- Proven ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into actionable policy guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS) and government reporting frameworks.
- Must be a UK resident and eligible for security clearance.
