Responsibilities
- Implement and manage network security protocols to protect federal systems and sensitive data from cyber threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Monitor system logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and anti-malware tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical support and training to staff regarding cybersecurity policies and compliance requirements.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Active Security Clearance (Secret or Top Secret preferred) or the ability to obtain one.
- Professional Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desired.
- US Citizenship is required for federal positions.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or IT support within a federal or defense environment.
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and federal compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, DIACAP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
