Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, dump trucks, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct regular safety inspections of municipal properties and report hazards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Respond to emergency situations including weather-related incidents and public safety concerns
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Provide excellent customer service to residents during field interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification preferred
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and basic mechanical equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
