Responsibilities
- Investigate and contain disease outbreaks using epidemiological surveillance techniques
- Conduct interviews and collect data from affected individuals and healthcare facilities
- Develop and execute public health intervention strategies
- Collaborate with hospitals, schools, and community organizations
- Prepare detailed reports for public health officials and media communications
- Train frontline healthcare workers on infection control protocols
- Monitor emerging health threats and recommend preventive measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of field investigation experience in public health
- Certification in Epidemiology or Emergency Response (e.g., CPH, REHS)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and public health reporting regulations
- Experience with disease surveillance systems (e.g., NEDSS, ESSENCE)
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends during outbreaks
- Valid Oregon driver's license with clean driving record
- Bilingual in English/Spanish highly desirable
