Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, utilities) for compliance with engineering specifications
- Review construction plans and blueprints against federal/state regulations and municipal codes
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for regulatory agencies
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and government officials to resolve compliance issues
- Ensure ADA and environmental standards are maintained throughout project lifecycles
- Manage permit documentation and compliance tracking systems
- Represent the City in public meetings regarding infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience with government projects
- Certification as a Louisiana State Certified Inspector (LSCI) or equivalent
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Deep understanding of OSHA, FEMA, and Louisiana DOTD regulations
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and inclement weather
