In this pivotal role, you will serve as a subject matter expert on Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) regulations, Thrift Savings Plans (TSP), and OPM guidelines. You will provide high-level consultation to federal employees regarding their pension eligibility, survivor benefits, and long-term retirement planning, ensuring they maximize their entitled benefits.

Responsibilities
- Analyze complex federal pension calculations and TSP balances to provide accurate retirement projections and recommendations.
- Conduct comprehensive, one-on-one retirement counseling sessions for federal employees and annuitants.
- Ensure strict compliance with OPM regulations, FERS laws, and agency-specific pension policies.
- Prepare and review detailed reports on pension eligibility, disability retirement claims, and benefit distributions.
- Collaborate with HR teams to resolve complex retirement discrepancies and claims.
- Update and maintain internal databases regarding changes in federal retirement legislation.
- Train junior staff on new federal policies and system updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal retirement administration, FERS, or pension planning.
- Deep knowledge of OPM regulations, FERS, CSRS, and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation and calculate benefits accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for high-level client-facing interactions.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Federal Public Trust clearance.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and retirement management software systems.
