Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities, parks, and street infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., trucks, graders, mowers) safely and efficiently
- Conduct daily inspections of public works assets and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during emergency response operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CAL-OSHA, and municipal safety protocols
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Participate in city beautification and community improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of municipal/public works maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varied weather
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to follow verbal/written instructions
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
